Retirement
Public Employees Retirement Service (P.E.R.S.). The City provides both employer and employee contributions to employee P.E.R.S. accounts. After a six-month waiting period employees become P.E.R.S. members. Members are vested after 5 years of public service. The City also has 401(k) and 457 plans available for employees to invest pre-tax dollars into retirement savings at the employee's option. Various plans/companies are available:

Manley Services (IRS 125 Plan) provides a means of saving pre-tax dollars to pay for dependent care and un-reimbursed health expenses not covered by health insurance.

The name of this Plan is the VOLUNTARY EMPLOYEES’ BENEFICIARY ASSOCIATION MEDICAL EXPENSE PLAN ("Plan"). It is offered by a voluntary employees' beneficiary association under Internal Revenue Code § 501(c)(9).
